The four 82,000 dwt bulkers are a proprietary design from SDARI, and one of the major bulk carrier types in the market. Measuring in 229 meters long and 32.26meters wide, the vessel will be able to meet all requirements of EEDI phase III.

Restructured from the bankrupted STX Dalian shipyard, Hengli Heavy Industry restarted the yard’s operations at the beginning of this year. It has already established a vessel design and research center to improve its production quality and technology innovation abilities. 

Once into full operation, Hengli Shipyard will be capable to deliver forty vessels per year.
