Specifically, the carrier has integrated its Dunkirk Express (DKX) service into the Helsingborg Express (HLX), forming an enhanced Northern European loop. The consolidated service will now include Hamburg as a new port of call, in addition to London (Tilbury), Dunkerque, and Helsingborg, with vessel rotation concluding back in London. This revised loop will be deployed with two dedicated vessels, each with a capacity of approximately 900 TEU.
Concurrently, CMA CGM has extended its Egypt–Greece–Algeria (EGAL) service to include Cyprus, adding Limassol as a scheduled port call. According to industry sources, the updated EGAL service will operate with five vessels—each with a nominal capacity of approximately 1,300 TEU—and follow the rotation: Alexandria → Limassol → Piraeus → Thessaloniki → Piraeus → Malta → Annaba → Alexandria.
These network refinements reinforce CMA CGM’s regional service architecture by improving schedule density and port coverage in Northern Europe, while simultaneously strengthening maritime connectivity to key Eastern Mediterranean gateways—including Cyprus—as part of its broader strategy to support growing trade flows between North Africa, Southern Europe, and the Levant.
