The Gemini Cooperation—comprising Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd—has introduced an immediate revision to its Mediterranean–Far East SE4/AE19 service, redirecting it via the Suez Canal. Under this update, Jeddah has been added as a port of call in both eastbound and westbound directions.

The revised SE4/AE19 rotation is as follows:  

Port Said → Tangier → Port Said → Jeddah → Singapore → Tianjin → Qingdao → Busan → Ningbo → Shanghai → Tanjung Pelepas → Jeddah → Port Said.

Additionally, the Gemini Cooperation has incorporated Jeddah into its SE3/AE15 service on the westbound leg only. The updated SE3/AE15 rotation is:

Port Said → Damietta → Colombo → Singapore → Qingdao → Kwangyang → Ningbo → Tanjung Pelepas → Jeddah → Port Said.

Concurrently, the Ocean Alliance—comprising CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping/OOCL, and Evergreen—has reinstated the Suez Canal routing for the eastbound leg of its North Europe–Far East FAL3 service (operated by CMA CGM). Westbound sailings, however, remain routed via the Cape of Good Hope.

The current FAL3 eastbound rotation is:  

Le Havre → Rotterdam → Hamburg → Antwerp → Tangier → Suez Canal → Port Kelang → Ningbo → Shanghai → Shenzhen (Yantian) → Singapore → Cape of Good Hope → Le Havre.

These updates reflect a broader strategic recalibration of East-West liner services, with both alliances selectively leveraging the Suez Canal for specific legs while maintaining differentiated routing policies across their respective networks.
