Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced the launch of its new South China–Laem Chabang Service (CHL7), an intra-Asia container loop designed to enhance maritime connectivity and improve schedule reliability for cargo trade between Southern China and Thailand.
The CHL7 service will commence commercial operations on September 29, 2026.
Strategic objectives: To establish direct, high-frequency connections between major export hubs in Southern China—including Nansha (Guangdong Province) and Yangpu (Hainan Province)—and Laem Chabang Port in Thailand, thereby strengthening transit efficiency, schedule predictability, and end-to-end supply chain resilience.
Port rotation: Nansha → Laem Chabang → Yangpu → Nansha
