This new service expands HACT’s international network and establishes the first direct, vessel-operated container link between Vietnam and India—marking a strategic milestone for a Vietnamese carrier.
The inaugural voyage is scheduled to depart from Nansha Port, China, on 22 September 2026, aboard the 1,781-TEU vessel *Haian Beta*.
CVI service rotation:
Nansha (China) → Hai Phong (Vietnam) → Port Klang (Malaysia) → Chennai (India) → return
HACT plans to operate one round-trip voyage per month.
Samsara Shipping Private Limited has been appointed as HACT’s General Shipping Agent in India, responsible for local operational support, port coordination, and market development initiatives.
Prior to the CVI service launch, HACT served the Indian market via non-vessel-operating common carrier (NVOCC) arrangements linking Vietnamese ports with Chennai and Kolkata. The introduction of dedicated liner calls at Nansha and Port Klang further integrates the CVI service into two of Asia’s most critical maritime and logistics hubs.
Fleet expansion supporting international growth:
HACT currently operates a fleet of 20 vessels. As part of its capacity-building strategy, the company has ordered eight newbuilds across two phases:
– Four 3,000-TEU vessels scheduled for delivery in Q4 2027;
– Four 7,100-TEU vessels scheduled for delivery in 2028.
These investments align with HACT’s long-term objective to reinforce its competitiveness on regional trade lanes and enhance end-to-end cargo connectivity between Vietnam and major Asian economies.
