Named the "Glovis Leader", the vessel features a certified capacity of 10,800 car equivalent units (CEUs) and was constructed by Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. (GSI), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). It was officially delivered in Guangzhou.
The vessel will be owned by HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine) and operated by Hyundai Glovis Co., Ltd.
Measuring 230 meters in length and 40 meters in breadth, the *Glovis Leader* has a design draft of 10.5 meters and a service speed of 19 knots. It is equipped with 14 fully adjustable vehicle decks, enabling flexible stowage of diverse cargo—including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hydrogen-powered passenger vehicles, and heavy commercial trucks.
Propelled by a dual-fuel main engine capable of operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and marine diesel oil (MDO), the vessel complies with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Tier III nitrogen oxide (NOₓ) emission standards. Its environmental performance is further enhanced by integrated energy-efficiency technologies, including an optimized hull form, exhaust waste heat recovery systems, and shore power connection capability for zero-emission port operations. Additionally, a shaft generator enables onboard electricity generation during navigation, contributing to reduced specific fuel consumption.

The delivery underscores China’s increasing leadership in high-end, technologically intensive shipbuilding. In recent years, Chinese shipyards have successfully delivered multiple record-breaking PCTCs—reflecting robust global demand for scalable, future-ready vehicle logistics infrastructure. Industry analysts note that this trend not only strengthens maritime supply chain resilience but also accelerates the industry-wide transition toward low-carbon, high-efficiency shipping solutions.
