COSCO Shipping Lines has implemented an Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) for containerized cargo destined for, or transiting through, U.S. East Coast, Gulf Coast, and West Coast ports—applicable across both Trans-Atlantic Trade (TAT) and Trans-Pacific Trade (TPT) services.
The EBS applies to all shipments governed by published tariff rates or service contracts, unless expressly excluded in writing, and is levied in addition to all other applicable surcharges, including the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF), currency adjustment factor (CAF), and security-related charges.
For refrigerated containers (reefers), the EBS is USD 224 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) and USD 448 per forty-foot equivalent unit (FEU), including 45-foot high-cube units. For all other dry container types, the charge is USD 172 per TEU and USD 344 per FEU (including 45-foot units).
This measure applies universally to cargo originating from any country and moving to or via the specified U.S. coastal port regions.Resource.: https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/KEpkX2VSmLfqdBxL0CFgAA
