The PSS applies to both dry and refrigerated (reefer) containerized cargo under short-term contractual arrangements.
For destinations in the West Africa Central region—including Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Equatorial Guinea—the surcharge is set at USD 750 per TEU. Shipments to Togo are subject to a higher rate of USD 850 per TEU, while those destined for Ghana will incur a surcharge of USD 650 per TEU.
For the West Africa North region—comprising Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, and São Tomé and Príncipe—the applicable PSS is USD 350 per TEU.
Additionally, shipments from China to The Gambia will be subject to a PSS of USD 600 per TEU.
Notably, CMA CGM has confirmed that no Peak Season Surcharge will be levied on shipments from China to Guinea.
The carrier states that this surcharge is introduced to sustain service reliability, operational efficiency, and network resilience across the China–West Africa trade lane.
