Maersk reduces global port fees to Mexico
2026-08-20

The revised DTHC will become effective on 15 August 2026 for shipments originating from all countries except South Korea. For cargo originating in South Korea and destined for Mexico, the new rate will take effect on 30 August 2026.

This adjustment applies uniformly across all container sizes and types.

Revised terminal handling charge

The Destination Terminal Handling Charge will be reduced from USD 140 to USD 120 per container—a decrease of USD 20, representing a 14.3% reduction.

For non-SPOT bookings, the applicable DTHC rate shall be determined based on the Price Calculation Date (PCD). Specifically:

– For non-FMC-regulated shipments, the PCD corresponds to the scheduled departure date of the first ocean leg, as confirmed at the time of booking;

– For FMC-regulated shipments, the PCD is aligned with the last container gate-in date at the origin terminal.

For SPOT bookings, the applicable DTHC rate will be determined in accordance with Maersk’s established SPOT booking rate calculation methodology.The DTHC is levied at destination unless otherwise stipulated in the customer’s shipping instructions or contractual agreements.
