The GRI/GRA amounts to USD 1,000 per TEU-equivalent container and applies to all full containers gated-in at origin terminals on or after the effective date. It remains in effect until further notice.  

The surcharge covers all standard and specialized container types—including 20-foot and 40-foot dry cargo, refrigerated (reefer), and high-cube units—as confirmed by Hapag-Lloyd. Geographically, the adjustment applies to exports from the Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan, and the Middle East, with final discharge ports located in the United States or Canada.
