CMA CGM has implemented emergency multimodal transport solutions to ensure uninterrupted supply chain connectivity for the United Arab Emirates and the broader Northern Gulf region, circumventing maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz.  

This strategic response follows heightened security risks and persistent navigational constraints affecting commercial shipping in the region.  

Alternative Logistics Corridors  

To sustain cargo flows across key Gulf markets—including Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia—CMA CGM has activated integrated sea–road–rail corridors. Key maritime entry points comprise:  

• Khor Fakkan, Fujairah, and Sohar (all located south of the Strait of Hormuz);  

• Jeddah Port on the Red Sea.  

From these gateways, cargo is distributed inland via dedicated feeder vessels, bonded road networks, and scheduled rail services.  

UAE and Gulf Connectivity  

Through UAE-based corridors, CMA CGM provides seamless intermodal connections to major national logistics hubs, including Khalifa Port (Abu Dhabi), Jebel Ali Port (Dubai), and Sharjah Container Terminal. These nodes serve as distribution centers for onward movement across the GCC via coordinated land and short-sea transport.  

Saudi Arabia and Oman Corridors  

The Jeddah corridor enables a resilient Asia–Mediterranean route by linking Red Sea imports to Dammam Port and extending inland to the Northern Gulf—bypassing the Strait of Hormuz entirely. Concurrently, CMA CGM leverages Omani ports—including Sohar and Salalah—as strategic land-bridge gateways, supporting road-based distribution into the UAE and northern Gulf markets.
