Emarat Maritime has formally entered the container shipping sector through a newbuilding agreement with Guangji Xinneng Shipbuilding for up to six container vessels, each with a capacity of 900 TEU.

The contract comprises three firm orders, with purchase options for an additional three units. Deliveries of the confirmed vessels are scheduled for 2028.

This strategic initiative represents Emarat Maritime’s first dedicated investment in containerized transport infrastructure and signals a deliberate expansion beyond its current portfolio of general cargo and offshore support vessel operations.
