GT Lines has launched Gulf Connect, a dedicated intra-Gulf container shipping network aimed at enhancing regional connectivity across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Iraq.
The network comprises three weekly, fixed-schedule service loops, integrated with Gulftainer’s regional terminal infrastructure to ensure consistent vessel rotations and efficient inter-terminal coordination.
The inaugural services are as follows:
• Sharjah–Iraq Express (SIX): Sharjah → Umm Qasr → Shuwaikh → Sharjah
• Sharjah–KSA Express (SKX): Sharjah → Dammam → Sharjah
• Sharjah–Qatar Express (SQX): Sharjah → Hamad → Bahrain → Sharjah
This launch follows GT Lines’ recent milestone of completing two dedicated vessel calls at Gulftainer’s Umm Qasr Commercial Terminal in Iraq — a strategic step reinforcing its growing presence and service reliability in the Iraqi market.
According to Gulftainer, Gulf Connect will deliver multiple weekly sailings, reduced and predictable transit times, and end-to-end cargo visibility across key Gulf markets, including Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain.
GT Lines emphasizes that the network is strategically anchored through its dual-hub operations in Sharjah and Khorfakkan, enabling flexible, resilient, and schedule-reliable solutions for regional trade and integrated supply chain management.
