MSC has introduced revised Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for containerized cargo shipments from South Asia to Europe, effective 1 July 2026 and applicable until 31 July 2026, unless extended by formal notice.
The updated tariff structure applies to exports from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan to the European gateway ports of Antwerp and Valencia.
For shipments originating from Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Chattogram (Bangladesh), the base FAK rate to both Antwerp and Valencia is USD 2,050 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU); forty-foot equivalent units (FEUs) are priced at USD 2,350–2,850 per container, with variation determined by specific origin port and equipment type.
For cargo from India and Pakistan, FAK rates to Antwerp and Valencia range from USD 3,650 to USD 4,050 per TEU, depending on the origin–destination port pair. The highest rate—USD 4,050 per TEU—applies to full-container-load (FCL) shipments from Kolkata (India) to Valencia (Spain). Shipments from Nhava Sheva (India) and Port Qasim (Pakistan) commence at USD 3,650 per TEU to Antwerp and USD 3,750 per TEU to Valencia.
All announced FAK rates incorporate the base ocean freight, Contingency Adjustment Charge (CAC), Piracy Risk Surcharge (PRS), and Emission Control Area (ECA) surcharge. Additional levies—including Bunker Recovery Charge (BRC), EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) surcharge, FuelEU Maritime surcharge, Terminal Handling Charges (THC), and Security-Related Surcharges (e.g., ISPS)—remain applicable and will be billed separately in accordance with prevailing contractual terms and regulatory mandates.
These adjustments constitute MSC’s latest tariff update for the South Asia–Europe trade lane, reflecting ongoing recalibrations in response to evolving operational expenditures, environmental compliance obligations, and global maritime regulatory developments.
